Here we find a Suzuki parked across the road from a BMW dealer.

Seems to be infectious.

Hey I don’t park like an asshole, I guess there’s an exception to every rule?

Maybe BMW makes you prove you're able to park badly before you buy their cars, so they brought him across the street to test his parking. Can any BMW owners confirm whether this is true?

I see that Subway is in Ireland now... not sure how I feel about that

I had one once. I religiously indicated while being conscious that I was letting the side down.

Been here for years. Just back from Italy and saw not a one there.

Hmm... based on the overpass and manhole cover I am 99% sure this is somewhere here in San Antonio, and if I squint it looks like you have a TX registration - but no front tags! Do you put it up in the windshield when you are driving, or are you a full-time cheater?

Interesting. Last time I was in Ireland was 2009 and I don’t recall seeing any then. I can understand how it would do OK in Ireland, the UK, and probably the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany, but I’d be pretty surprise if France/Italy/Spain took a liking to Subway. Then again I saw Costco in Spain last year so I guess our American Mega-Chain stores know more than I do.

Yeah, it’s in the 5 guys parking lot off of 1604 by 281. I’m a San Antonio resident for not sure how much longer, oil and gas took a shit so I’m looking for a new job.

Full time cheater, had it in my window for a while and took it out when I was in OK for 6 weeks, never put it back. See a lot of nice cars sans front plates so I figured why the hell not, also it’s been like that since July of 2014, when I got the car, and have had no issues. I got the bracket to put it on my front bumper, but it needed to get painted and I never got around to it, more of I used to work in the field and was rarely home, so I never got around to it.

what’s rarer, 3 x-drive BMWs parked next to each other, or 3 BMWs parked next to each other all in their own spaces

(Googles)

Plenty of Subways around Paris.

Not that I recall ever seeing any but I suppose I wasn’t looking. McDonalds everywhere too.

Yeah lots of folks here run without front plates. I have a friend who was hassled by SAPD for it one time, but his car was a giant cop magnet anyway - old lowered Honda with a loud exhaust and blacked out tint. For the most part they seem to have better things to do than check registrations. Doesn’t really bother me, I was just curious. Good luck with the job search! You’re an engineer, right? We might have some job openings here.

Make sure you while you are here and have free time that you get the M3 out on some of the back roads in the hills northwest of town. There is some good driving out there.

I figured if they ever gave me a hard time, I’d put it somewhere on the front, even got a tow hook mounting bracket but I didn’t like the quality of the bracket, so no front plate. I should ad my 128i is also missing it’s front plate so yeah, I guess I just don’t like front plates.

Yup I’m a Chem E, worked for Schlumberger as a frac field engineer.

Have done some exploring of those roads, any particular recommendations.

Interesting. I get the appeal - it’s a fast, inexpensive, and consistent quality sandwich. And it is probably better for you than a typical McDonalds burger. But I just don't care for it.

Yeah lots of cars look better without them or were designed to fit euro-style plate and not our more square ones.

We only have one open job req for a chemical engineer right now... it’s for a QA engineer related to process control in our Chemistry department... “Requires a BS degree in Quality Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Fire Protection Engineering with at least a 3.0 GPA. Must have 2-5 years experience in production control or quality assurance related to manufacturing processes.” Sound like you at all?

Forgive me if this ends up not being all that exciting, but I like to blast out PR37 between highway 16 and Medina lake quite often. There is a fair amount of traffic, so sometimes you do end up stuck behind slower car.

Also back roads that lead in and out of Bandera. I’ve found a few good ones just by exploring. If you are ever going to Garner State Park (and you should, it is awesome), go the back way out to Bandera and then RR 470 to Utopia and FM 1050 to the park. Last time I was through Utopia I actually saw what must have been an M3/M4 owner’s club drive out that way - something like 8 cars in a row, a mix of E46, E90 and F30's. It isn’t all twists, but some a pretty cool like Seco Pass on 470.

Not sure if it sounds like me, but I might give it a shot, what company you work for?

And when I get back to Texas, gonna have to unleash the M3 upon these roads, looks better than most of the roads I can find, I’ve pretty much just gone north on 281 until I see something on my idrive screen that looks twisty enough.

I’m not up 281 that often. It is pretty once you get out of town, but less twisty - though there are probably some good roads off of it once you get close to 46.

Not sure I want to name my workplace in the open on Oppo. Is there a good way to message you?

I usually take some of the FMs off of 46 I think it’s like 3006 and some other ones, can’t remember their numbers but not bad driving, and I’ll think of a good way for you to message me and I’ll get back to you.
